About The Owner
Ingrid Adolphs, President and Chief Event Designer at The Event, is living her childhood dream. Born to a festive family in Bogota, Colombia, at a very young age, Ingrid planned gatherings at home with seriousness and imagination. Tuned to her passion for people and events, she attended high school in the U.S. and pursued a Hospitality degree from the Florida International University.
Ingrid’s formal career began at Four Seasons Hotel Miami, which she reveres as The Academy; an experience that exposed her to best practices and impressed upon her the importance of personalized attention. After acquiring significant experience in food and beverage operations, Ingrid decided to explore the corporate side of hotels working for Sol Melia Hotels and Resorts Americas, where she gained experience in Revenue Management and Online Marketing Strategies.
In 2007, the idea of venturing into her true passion began to evolve in Ingrid’s head, idea that became a reality in 2008, when she founded The Event, an event design firm committed to design experiential events customized to the individuality of its clients.
In 2009, Ingrid was nominated by the LBA as Event Producer of the Year . In March of 2011 Ingrid was recognized as Event Designer of the Year at the Florida BizBash Reader's Choice Awards, and with one of her designs, the company was a Finalists at the BizBash Style Awards as Best Corporate Event Concept on the Year.
"Inspiration is found on everything that surrounds us, everything from the colors in nature, to movies, times in history, architecture, art, fabric patterns, fashion trends and more. The world is an infinite idea board. Ideas flow from observing in detail, keeping the mind open to experiment with color combinations, materials and exotic textures, always envisioning uncommon ways of using very common things. That's a designer's true talent".
